WP3: Acquisition of Equipment

Objectives

To purchase or upgrade already existing equipment relevant for the research themes of UNAM. Priority will be given to those that are used by many and equipment that may impact high quality research. In this regard, equipment for materials characterization, and equipment for epitaxial growth of materials take priority. Small equipment that complement the already existing equipment or a measurement setup will also be considered.

Description

Task 1:

Acquisition of a major equipment item. Priority will be given to optoelectronic analysis, manipulation and/or material characterization. Equipment such as a tunable laser, pulsed laser or near field optical microscope will be considered. Staff members will study the equipment in the market, write technical specifications for the purchase of the equipment and will supervise the installation and maintenance of such equipment.

Task 2:

Acquisition or upgrading of small equipment item that will complement already existing equipment and/or measurement setup. Equipment such as, electronic power supplies, detectors, vacuum pumps and the like will be eligible. Staff members will study the equipment in the market, write technical specifications for the purchase of the equipment and will supervise the installation and maintenance of such equipment.
