Simulation of anyon motion in 1-D

Experimental realization of particles with unusual statistics (neither Fermi nor Bose) have attracted some recent interest:

"Anyons abound in 1D quantum gases", J.L.Miller, Physics Today 78 (9), 12-14 (2025)

"Realization of one-dimensional anyons with arbitrary statistical phase", J.Kwan et al., Science 386, 1055-1060 (2024)

The project aims to construct a computer code for the simulation of the dynamics of a number
of such particles on a one-dimensional lattice and analyze these dynamics.

The student is expected to have a reasonable amount of computational skill.
(Improvement of computational skills should also be seen as a part of the aims of this project.)

The student must have passed the Phys 325 (QM-I) course.

It is best that the student discuss the project with me before applying for assignment.
