Layer-by-Layer (LbL) Deposition
Ultra-thin
(<50 nm) coatings on glass and Si/SiO2 surfaces with
Au and/or Ag nanoparticles and polyelectrolytes by using `Layer-by-Layer
(LbL)
Deposition Technique is extensively studied. LbL method is based on long-range
electrostatic interactions and it provides us to control the orientation and
distance in a very precise way. Surface properties
(hyrophobicity/hydrophilicity)
can also be controlled and by using the verstality of the technique, metal
nanoparticles (Au and/or Ag) can be
incorporated into these condensed films. The films are characterized using
water-contact-angle (WAC), optical (UV-Vis) and X-ray photoelectron
(XPS)
spectroscopic techniques.
