Biography

I was born in 1950, in Izmir, Turkey. I graduated from Ankara Fen Lisesi (Ankara Science Lycee) in Ankara in 1967 and entered the Middle East Technical University (METU) the same year. I earned the BS and MS degrees from METU Department of Mathematics in 1971 and 1973 respectively. I got my PhD in Mathematics from the University of Michigan in 1978 under the supervision of Prof. M.S. Ramanujan. I worked in METU from 1978 until 1986. I have been in Bilkent University since 1986.
