"Thompson’s Normal p-complement Theorem"
By
Abstract: Thompson's theorem states that one can just look at two particular subgroups of a group and if both of them are p-nilpotent, then the whole group is p-nilpotent. Those two subgroups are the centralizer of the center of a Sylow p-subgroup and the normalizer of the Thompson subgroup of a Sylow p-subgroup. In the talk, we prove the theorem following the account given in Isaacs' Finite Group Theory.
