“Symmetric powers and modular invariants
of elementary abelian p-groups”

Abstract: In the 1970's, Almkvist and Fossum discovered formulae which describe the indecomposable summands of arbitrary symmetric powers of modular representations of cyclic groups of order p. We will show how (in spite of the wildness of the representation type) these formulae can be generalised to elementary abelian p-groups. We will also give some applications to invariant theory.
