"Transfer homomorphism and the focal subgroup"

Abstract: I will define the transfer homomorphism and prove the focal subgroup theorem. If time permits we will also prove Burnside’s theorem on normal p-complements. The talk should be accessible to graduate students who completed the algebra sequence..
