"The Burnside p-complement theorem and some corollaries"
By
Abstract: The Burnside p-complement Theorem states that for a finite group G and a Sylow p-subgroup P of G, if P is contained in the center of normalizer of P in G then G has a normal p-complement. In the talk, I will start by recalling the transfer homomorphism and some of its basic properties. Then I will use these to present a proof the theorem. We will also discuss a corollary for a finite group G: If all Sylow subgoups of G are cyclic, then G is solvable
