"Combinatorial Classification of Toric Ideals and Applications"

Abstract: We survey a combinatorial classification of toric ideals based on the bouquet structure we introduce in a joint work with Sonja Petrovi\' c and Apostolos Thoma. This bouquet structure relies on the information given by the Gale transform. We discuss several applications of this classification and answer related (open) problems in combinatorics, commutative algebra and algebraic geometry.
