Abstract: We will discuss
the restrictions on the fixed point subspaces of finite group actions on
homology spheres. In particular I will introduce the Borel-Smith
conditions on dimension functions and explain the main ideas of the
paper by Dotzel-Hamrick on "p-Group Actions on Homology
Spheres."
