"Completeness of Weighted Sobolev Spaces"
By
=
Abstract: This is a presentation of a senior project. We consider weighted Sobolev
spaces on open domains in the Euclidean space and the question of when they=
are
complete (Banach spaces). It turns out that this requirement is not fulfill=
ed
for some weights and that an exceptional set has to be removed from the dom=
ain
in order to have completeness. We present some results on this issue as wel=
l as
an example of a weight for which the exceptional set is the whole domain.
Students are welcome.
Tea and cookies will be served before=
