“The monomial Burnside ring and the monomial Burnside functor”

ABSTRACT: The motive for considering the monomial Burnside functor (instead of the ordinary Burnside functor) is that the linearization morphism is surjective for all finite groups and all splitting fields (instead of just for rational representations of p-groups). In this introductory talk we shall define the monomial Burnside ring, describe its primitive idempotents, and examine an example: the monomial table of marks for the non-abelian group with order six.
