News from the Department

• Conference on the occasion of Prof. Dr. Mefharet Kocatepe's Retirement and the 30th Anniversary of Department of Mathematics, Bilkent University, 3-4 June 2022.

• 7th Cemal Koç Algebra Days, Bilkent University, 27 April 2019.

• Former faculty member Prof. Dr. Cem Yalçın Yıldırım along with Daniel Goldston, Janos Pintz, and Yitang Zhang won the 2014 Cole Prize in Number Theory for their work on small gaps between primes. Yıldırım, Goldston, and Pintz will also jointly deliver an invited talk at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2014) in August 2014 in Seoul, South Korea.

• The department hosted the 6th Computational Methods and Function Theory (CMFT 2009) conference in June 2009.

• Prof. Dr. Alexander Klyachko delivered an invited talk at the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM 2002) in August 2002 in Beijing, China.
