[Jan. 14] [Optional] Computational Project Results
are now available from SAPS.
[Jan. 13] About the final
The exam will be on Saturday, 17 January 2009 starting at 10:00; let's meet in front of SAZ-01 (if available).
The exam will be comprehension type with large number of small questions.
There can be trivial calculations, but it will be mostly short essay type. Duration will be about 45 minutes.
It will be closed book. You are advised to study the lecture notes as well as the reading assignments.
[Jan. 01] Lecture Notes - Part 2
You can now access to the (mostly) hand-written lecture notes-part2;
this part contains phenomenology of (non)linear optical processes, NLO (quantum treatment) and molecular rovibrational spectra.
[Dec. 30] About the second midterm
The exam will be on Wednesday, 7 January 2009 starting at 17:00; let's meet in front of SAZ-18 (if available)
The exam will be on Atoms in Static Fields (Ch. 3), Atoms in AC fields (Ch. 4) and Nonlinear Optics -- Quantum Theory (Ch. 9); about 3 or 4 questions.
It will be closed book, but I shall supply any complicated expression.
[Dec. 30] A talk on the science of scent
Please watch this
talk that is highly relevant to our very last lecture.
My special thanks to Ertugrul Karademir for bringing this to my attention.
[Dec. 25] HW-6
